The Worcester Free Care Collaborative is honored to be recognized with this year’s Health Equity Award from the Coalition for a Healthy Greater Worcester. This award celebrates organizations and community leaders in the Greater Worcester area who demonstrate excellence in advancing health equity by investing in the community, uplifting community voices, and working to eliminate gaps in services. WFCC is grateful for this recognition and remains committed to providing compassionate, accessible care to community members who face barriers to health and healthcare.

"The WFCC exemplifies excellence in health equity by dismantling the structural barriers-financial, linguistic, and geographic--that prevent marginalized populations in Worcester from accessing quality care. The Collaborative is a coalition of 7 free clinics that operate as a network of neighborhood-based sites that meet patients where they live and work. They demonstrate merit in three key pillars: universal access, cultural and linguistic competence, and comprehensive screening. WFCC provides care to those who are systematically underserved at no cost regardless of Insurance status, utilizes a diverse staff of 300- volunteers and translation services to ensure that care is provided in a patient's preferred language, and integrates screenings for social determinants (housing, food security, etc.), each of which help to address the socio-economic determinants of health that drive disparities in health outcomes and to foster trust with patients."
