"The WFCC exemplifies excellence in health equity by dismantling the structural barriers-financial, linguistic, and geographic--that prevent marginalized populations in Worcester from accessing quality care. The Collaborative is a coalition of 7 free clinics that operate as a network of neighborhood-based sites that meet patients where they live and work. They demonstrate merit in three key pillars: universal access, cultural and linguistic competence, and comprehensive screening. WFCC provides care to those who are systematically underserved at no cost regardless of Insurance status, utilizes a diverse staff of 300- volunteers and translation services to ensure that care is provided in a patient's preferred language, and integrates screenings for social determinants (housing, food security, etc.), each of which help to address the socio-economic determinants of health that drive disparities in health outcomes and to foster trust with patients."
