Kristine Baez is a medical interpreter with the Center for Health Impact in the Worcester area and also a volunteer at St. Anne's and Hart-Wood as a medical interpreter in Spanish. She enjoys spending time with her husband and three grown kids in the great outdoors.

Martha Benitez, Certified Health Care Interpreter, currently is the Director of Health and Linguistic Equity at Center for Health Impact. As a Spanish and Portuguese medical interpreter brings thirty-five years of experience collaborating with multicultural communities and Worcester Free Clinics.
Martha’s professional roles include serving as Interpreter’s mentor, Language Coach, and collaborates with UMASS Chan medical students with the OEE Spanish and culture elective course.

The Worcester Free Care Collaborative is honored to be recognized with this year’s Health Equity Award from the Coalition for a Healthy Greater Worcester. This award celebrates organizations and community leaders in the Greater Worcester area who demonstrate excellence in advancing health equity by investing in the community, uplifting community voices, and working to eliminate gaps in services.
The evening forum focused on coming together as a community and participating in several round-table discussions on mental and physical well-being, resilience, and the challenges surrounding access to care for Worcester’s Black community. The event provided an opportunity for local organizations to connect through the interactive discussions as well as the resource tables.
Worcester Free Care Collaborative, for being recognized by the Worcester Business Journal as a 2025 Champion of Health Care: Healthcare Volunteer of the Year. This award honors David’s extraordinary commitment to serving patients, mentoring students and clinicians, and leading WFCC’s mission to provide compassionate, no-cost care to those in greatest need. His dedication reflects the heart of WFCC’s work, and we are grateful for his continued leadership and service to the Greater Worcester community and beyond.
The Worcester Free Care Collaborative, Inc. (WFCC) hosted its first Evening of Gratitude on September 7, 2025. The event took place at the India Center in Shrewsbury.
This special evening served as a celebration of the WFCC’s mission and work, specifically honoring the devoted volunteers and generous donors whose commitment makes compassionate, no-cost healthcare possible.
