As a volunteer of the WFCC, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. We offer various volunteer roles to suit your individual interests, skills, and schedule, including:
Medical Providers: Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Physician Assistants, and Pharmacists who can provide medical care and expertise.
Phlebotomists: Nurses, lab techs, or trained phlebotomists who can help us perform lab draws and point-of-care testing for patients.
Medical Interpreters: Bilingual volunteers who can help eliminate language barriers to ensure effective communication between patients and healthcare providers. Our most common languages are Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, and Twi.
Grant Writing/Fundraising: We are experts in providing medical care, not writing grants, organizing fundraising events, or soliciting donations. We are eagerly seeking someone with these skills who can help us secure funding opportunities to continue the important services we provide for the community.
Accounting/Finance: Individuals who can help us manage our books and complete annual filings.
Media, Marketing, and Outreach: Volunteers who can help us raise awareness about our services, build brand imagery, and reach our intended audiences for advocacy, recruitment, and community partnerships.
Self-fulfillment: Make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families who have nowhere else to receive essential healthcare services. The gratefulness of patients who need our assistance is incredibly rewarding. You will join a close-kniw community of over 400 volunteers.
Supportive, low-stress environment: Engage with patients, students, and other healthcare professionals in a low-pressure environment and without concern for billing, coding, or RVUs.
Community Impact: Contribute to improving the health and well-being of our community by ensuring access to quality healthcare for all.
Professional Development: Gain valuable experience, expand your skills, and network with other healthcare professionals and community members.

For most of our providers, insurance from work covers volunteering at our programs. Whether you work at a large hospital system ( like UMass, St. Vincent or Optum, a smaller private practice or are recently retired, we can work with you to figure out professional insurance.
We do have a very small number of opportunities available. We do ocassionally publish specific opportunities for high schoolers and undergrads - when available, those will be published above. Otherwise, we request you to complete the standard volunteer form above to be placed on a waiting list. We regret that due to the large volume of inquiries, our volunteers are unable to respond to individiual outreach.
